What a grade represents
Auction houses assign an overall condition grade along with separate interior assessments. The grade is a summary of the inspector's findings on the day of inspection.
Grading scales differ between auction houses, so the same label does not always mean exactly the same thing.
Reading the vehicle map
Auction sheets include a diagram marking scratches, dents, corrosion and replaced panels. This detail often matters more than the headline grade.
Always request a translation or explanation of the sheet for the specific vehicle before committing.
